This, from a learning perspective, was a challenging format. I believe the guest, Robin, had a lot more that she could have shared in 30 mins. Unfortunately the host didn’t seem to promote her diving deeper, nor did she ask Robin many probing questions. She did, however, add her own personal experiences and opinions… a lot. That said, I did pick up a few points of value. An introductory level presentation.

There was some good information on subtle signs that may not be observed in single diagnostic situations because they may not be repeptitive during that time but in general terms they are repetitive over time. Also a good reminder to not reinforce the message that someone is not good enough as we provide treatment.

This was my first introduction to the Autism Outreach Podcast and it was great! I have a daughter who is autistic and was not diagnosed until she was 16, due to many of the challenges with diagnosing girls that were discussed in this episode. I also have many girls on the spectrum on my professional caseload. Very helpful!
