This information was so helpful but I felt like it could've gone much longer and given more recommendations as a list to help us as professionals (and parents) sort through things. Would love to know about how to differentiate b/w OCD and pervasive thoughts as a person on the spectrum for example.

Listening to her personal experiences and the traits we often miss because we cannot see them. Hearing her state that when you get a diagnosis your mental health is not thought of anymore, only your behavior. This was profound! I work with preschoolers in a Montessori environment and we do everything possible to make the kids feel successful and included. This worries me greatly that my students' mental health will suffer as they get older and their peer relationships become more complex.

I didn't feel there was enough information presented regarding intervention. There was a lot of "fluff" for the first 12 minutes. Most helpful information regarded how parents can find resources that would lead to evaluation and possible diagnosis of girls with autism.

The presenter talked about how it might be more difficult to diagnose females than males as the repetitive actions in girls might be looked upon as appropriate behaviors because of the gender. I would have never thought that it could be a problem for early diagnosis.

The guest speaker was phenomenal in sharing information. I wished the host of the podcast would keep the focus on the subject and the guest. It appeared as if the host kept redirecting the attention to her own accolades and not the subject at hand.

It was just OK. The chatter between host and guest speaker was self-referential and self-promoting, did not even start talking about autism in girls until 12 minutes into a 30 minute podcast. The spoke truth to the notion that if you have met one person with autism, you have met one person with autism. And we all know that. There were no studies to reference, no theoretical framework to support their chatty Tik Tok banter. I give credit for their enthusiasm.

This, from a learning perspective, was a challenging format. I believe the guest, Robin, had a lot more that she could have shared in 30 mins. Unfortunately the host didn’t seem to promote her diving deeper, nor did she ask Robin many probing questions. She did, however, add her own personal experiences and opinions… a lot. That said, I did pick up a few points of value. An introductory level presentation.
