Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited institution
Valid State of Michigan SLPA license (or eligibility) issued by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Health Care Services
Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
Previous experience in a school setting preferred but not required
Strong communication and organizational skills
Role and Responsibilities:
Assist the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist in providing direct speech and language therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Support implementation of therapy activities and strategies developed by the SLP
Prepare and organize materials for therapy sessions
Document student progress and maintain accurate records under SLP supervision
Assist in screening students for speech, language, and hearing disorders (under SLP direction)
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and staff regarding student needs and progress
Participate in training and professional development as required
