Very practical in terms of what to do and how to do it. The major stumbling block for me is it's very difficult for me to see children 2x a week, let alone 3x a week. Our setting has a long waiting list, so me seeing 2 or 3 kids 2x or 3x takes away spots for other children. I don't believe we'd receive prior authorization approval for 2x or 3x a week from any of the insurances we accept and if we did, I don't have room on my schedule to do that. It's frustrating as 2x to 3x is best practice.

Dr. Iuzzini-Seigel is an expert on CAS, and is a great speaker. She provided very specific information about several different treatment options, and where to begin with treatment, provided case studies, videos, and clear explanations of all treatment options. I appreciated hearing more about DTTS. I'm going to post the definition of Principles of Motor Learning on my wall at our clinic!!

Although I use many of these general strategies in some form, this course provided more structured and systematic ways to approach students various needs. I will definitely be using perception training including many different examples, target selection by syllable type with a focus on prosodic variations throughout the levels, backward chaining, decreasing feedback to increase generalization, not working on sounds in isolation for long, motor entrainment, ReST approach with non-words, etc...
