Strong and eye-opening content presented in this course! Very interesting that the instructor conveyed that much of the strategies we SLPs already employ in Tx for our struggling students are the same ones typically used for children with TBIs. I use many of the multi-modality approaches and compensatory strategies discussed in this course with my CAD and LD students that was suggested for children with TBIs.

This course was excellent because it explained pediatric TBI in a clear and practical way. The presenter gave real-life examples, evidence-based strategies, and emphasized how SLPs can use skills we already have to support students. I especially appreciated the focus on school collaboration, family involvement, and functional interventions that can be applied right away.

I really appreciate learning this new information. I've worked with TBI students in my elementary school in the past. I'm very surprised to learn the number of students who are being underidentified and underserved. I appreciate learning about the characteristics of the different ages of children with TBI and I very much appreciated learning about strategies to use with these students. Thanks for the great course!

I am from Canada, and SLP's who are specifically training in TBI visit the schools to support the entire staff, students, and parents as needed basis. We are not SLP's who work in medical facilities. SLP's who work in medical facilities have a very different view to tbi than community based SLP's. You are expecting way too much from your school based SLP's and don't agree with this researcher who thinks that SLP's can do it on their own.
