Guidelines for supervising and awarding clinical clock hours and observation hours in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) programs using Simucase are discussed in this course. Platform navigation and features, as well as procedures for pre-briefing, providing feedback, and debriefing students, are described. A rubric for analyzing the learner’s participation and engagement is also shared.

Clint Johnson is an SLP and a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE). Currently he is the Vice President of Simucase Education and trains faculty and students to use computer-based simulations successfully.
Erica Ligon, M.Ed., CCC-SLP, CHSE is a speech-language pathologist and Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE). In her role as Simucase Supervision Manager, she develops speech-language pathology simulations and works with faculty to coordinate/implement Simucase supervision experiences. Erica has practiced as a speech-language pathologist for over ten years and has experience diagnosing and treating a broad range of communication disorders across the lifespan. Erica completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees at The University of Georgia.
