During therapy sessions it is frequently necessary to refocus students and deep breathing exercises, discussing emotions utilizing posters or cards, reading a story, singing a song, discussing one challenge and one strength are all helpful in helping our students manage their emotions. Once their emotions are managed, this sets them up for optimal learning. This makes them feel safe, centered and ready to learn in the speech therapy sessions.
