This course confirmed what I have been observing with my students for many years now. An isolated approach to working on each of these skills is not working and a students team needs more time to collaborate in order to make meaningful progress with students.

I found this course to be highly beneficial for SLPs working with middle and high school students. The case studies were "spot-on" with the types of social-emotional challenges that teens face on a daily basis. The discussion of collaboration was insightful as to how SLPs can support emotional regulation and interpersonal communication, in teens, as a team approach.

As someone who is raising adolescents and who works as a school based SLP at the secondary level, there was much of this information that was very relevant to what I am doing on a daily basis. I am one who truly believes that learning cannot happen unless you meet a student where they are emotionally. Relationship building with my students is huge, and understanding their emotional state and challenges is imperative.
