This course gave me a framework to make a case for supporting OHI (ADHD) students--not that I want more caseload responsibilities!--I have always maintained that many of the teacher referral concerns about these students are communication-based and, inexplicably, my district believes only ASD-eligible students can have social communication goals. I appreciate courses that include case studies as well because they show how these strategies can be implemented in real life.

The presenter thoroughly explained why executive functioning falls under the SLP umbrella and gave detailed information to support collaboration; however, there was almost no mention of actual intervention methods/techniques. I don't feel like I know much more about how to work with students on EF than I did before watching the video.

I think it clarifies that SLP's can in fact implement EF strategies within their interventions, while also being mindful of the way that language/comprehension/writing is impacted. I enjoyed looking at the handouts provided to be able to share with teachers/families.

This course was excellent because it provided practical, research-based strategies for supporting executive functioning in high school students. It highlighted the SLP’s unique role in language-based problem solving, self-advocacy, and collaborative service delivery. The use of real case studies, structured interventions, and reinforcement across settings made the content highly relevant and immediately applicable.

Though the speaker did not suggest specific goals that could be used for EF, her tables that defined how EF can impact academics, relationships, speech, and self-advocacy appeared to give enough specific information that they could be utilized as goals. I always look for ideas for goals in a seminar.

Excellent discussion on breaking barriers for service delivery of skills SLPs possess, as well as having the time to do justice to those students as they present themselves.into our sphere. There are many EF individuals who fell through the cracks, trying to navigate job interviews, employer expectations, church participation, social activities, choosing a partner, parenting, and adult life in general.Yes you are needed!

Answer to the first question on the exam is NOT provided within the designated slide. She never says *which* EF skill is most directly associated with evaluating progress and adapting strategies. She gives multiple examples of each area and describes different ways those EF skills (or lack/under-development of) may "look" in a student's performance. I listened to it (and the slides around it) at least 4 times, with the question in front of me, and did NOT hear anything to help me answer.
