I love how positive the presenter was and the examples she gave showed a natural aptitude for responding to teens in a way that validated them as growing individuals and offered a shared experience of problem solving and working towards independence. The information about changes we see adolescent brain and how that can impact them in a myriad of ways will help me better explain to the teens and parents we work with how they are unique from younger children and what that means for intervention.

This course was exactly what I needed. I am currently employed by a virtual academy and, at my request, I have a lot of middle & high school students on my caseload. It's a new population to me, but one that I believe I've done well with so far. It was a great neuro refresher and also confirmation that a lot of the techniques I'm using are, in fact, evidenced based. Excellent course!

This was such a needed CEU for me. Every classroom teacher and school administrator needs to see this video, or one similar. I like that I was given research data to refer back to when speaking with a teacher or parent. I wished I had know this information when I was raising my thirty-five-year-old son. A clear and easy to read printable handout, to share with other colleagues and teachers.

I like the research paired with real life examples from her practice in the school setting. Getting to know kids as a whole person is key to making a difference in their lives. I have been working with high school students for the past 3 years and they have a lot to say and just want to be heard.

I work as a Speech-Language Pathologist at a Junior High and High School and I see these students changing and growing constantly. I enjoyed the references (books) and information provided on how to really engage with the students and find out what they are passionate about. I enjoy working with teenagers because they need someone "on their side." I tend to let them talk when they feel they can open up - even when they are upset with a parent/peer/teacher because that is when they need an ear.

statReinforced things I've previously learned, but with updated info. Plus, reminded me of a few things I "may" have forgotten. One "challenge" was the second questions on the exam, asking which were myths. I struggled with deciding if myth = false, or were all the things listed considered myths, whether true or false. (am I making sense)
