Meghan Esper, MA, CCC-SLP has treated voice and upper airway patients at the Duke Voice Care Center since 2019. She is a member of the Global Initiative for Inducible Laryngeal Obstruction (GIILO) and has attended two in person Breathing and Upper Airway conferences in recent years: (the 5th International EILO/ILO Conference: Exercise and Breathing in 2024 and the 6th International ILO, Upper and Lower Airway Conference in 2024). Esper treats a wide variety of upper airway patients from pediatric athletes with dysfunctional breathing, EILO, muscle tension dysphonia or a combination thereof to adult patients with extreme laryngeal hypersensitivity (ILO). Esper is passionate about treating this patient population and eager to share her knowledge and treatment approach with others in the field.

Hilary Bartholomew
MS CCC-SLP
Hilary Bartholomew, MS, CCC-SLP, is a senior clinical speech-language pathologist for the Duke Voice Care Center. Bartholomew has experience treating a variety of voice and laryngeal hypersensitivity disorders. She maintains a caseload of adult and pediatric patients and specializes in manual therapy, upper airway disorders, and complex cases. She also works with patients who need speech and pulmonary rehabilitation following laryngectomy. She is a member of the Global Initiative for Inducible Laryngeal Obstruction (GIILO). Bartholomew received her Bachelor’s degree in Music and Linguistics from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2005 and her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Vanderbilt University in 2007. She served as clinical instructor for a graduate-level course on Voice Disorders at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for many years.
