Michael Seils
PT, DPT, Ed.D, GCS
Michael earned his Bachelor of Health Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Nazareth College in 2011 and 2013, respectively. He began his career in acute rehabilitation and transitioned into home health care. He has over seven years of home health care experience as a staff therapist, preceptor, and supervisor. He was named HCR Home Care’s Therapist of the Year in 2015. He was recognized as Rochester Regional Home Care’s supervisor and leader of the year in 2018 and 2019. His areas of expertise and certifications include Board-Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS), a Certificate of Advanced Competency in Home Health, and the National Stroke Association Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (CSRS). Michael obtained his Ed.D. in Executive Leadership at St. John Fisher College and MBA from Daemen University. His dissertation focused on interprofessional collaboration between registered nurses and physical therapists in a home health care setting. He currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the University at Buffalo Physical Therapy Department. His current research focuses on home health care, leadership, and student engagement in the classroom utilizing technology.
