This course will discuss effective clinical exploitation of neuroplasticity to maximize the recovery of aphasia and related disorders. It will present 18 tenets, techniques and tools that enhance clinical skills and assist in the integration of evidence into aphasia rehabilitation that focuses on the client’s values and perspective.
- After this course, participants will be able to list 5 treatment methods based on external scientific evidence applicable to exploiting neuroplasticity in the treatment of aphasia and related disorders.
- After this course, participants will be able to list 10 treatment techniques based on clinical experience, research, and evidence that exploit neuroplasticity in the treatment of aphasia and related disorders.
- After this course, participants will be able to list 3 treatment tenets and techniques that facilitate incorporation of client goals and perspectives into aphasia rehabilitation designed to exploit neuroplasticity.
- After this course, participants will be able to list 3 techniques for addressing the cognitive underpinnings for rehabilitation of acquired communication skills.
