it was very specific which made it very difficult for professionals who have not seen many patients. Many were specific examples of one child with the problem. It could work well for a student in a clinical practicum who could observe for many months and read over the material multiple timed.

I have always been interested in velopharyngeal insufficiency and incompetence, although I have not had the opportunity to work with individuals with these issues. I still believe that knowledge of this area is valuable, as I recently had a client who displayed nasal emissions. However, the nature of her use of these sounds was not structural, so she was a good candidate for speech therapy.

I loved hearing from Ann Kummer. I admire her so much. I enjoyed this course and used it as a refresher for my clinical skills. I am glad I chose this course as it cleared up the confusion I was having and provided great insight. As with part one, this was excellent information presented in a very functional and informative way! I have an open cleft palate and have been involved with the craniofacial world as a kid and as an adult (SLP) and with the craniofacial population (advocacy) and professionals in the field. I am well versed in this realm but I have learned a lot through these two presentations!!

In the past, I saw quite a few submucous and other clefts. However, I have not seen a child with the condition in at least 5 years. I wanted a refresher and this was the right one. Ann is always a good presenter, showing explicit drawings and videos, being able to produce incorrect sounds so the audience can hear the difference, giving a well-thought-out presentation, and, most importantly, providing strategies to use now.
