Although I was looking more for a course in supervising SLPA's, the information presented can be used when supervising SLPA's. The information was well presented with details that can help me apply the information in the future. I also liked the videos that showed how a coaching session using specific types of questions might look.

She shared how to actively engage the students/fellows to think about what they need, what they could do and how they could improve without the clinician giving them a script of how to do everything. This is good because it allows the students/fellows to problem-solve and think critically without someone always giving them an answer.

-- She was very clear with her information about coaching, what it is, how to use. Great examples of how to use it. Personally, I feel blended approaches can be important since nothing works all the time for everyone, in particular in this context. Are some contexts not good for coachi -- I disagreed with the view of now providing more direct intervention regarding understanding how the IEP works and that he is supposed to be following what it says. He clearly doesn't understand the IEP enough.

I have not had the opportunity to supervise a CF student or to be a peer coach. That is why I said the course would impact my work somewhat. I am aware that ASHA has a new, prioritized focus on the topic of supervision for CEU's. In being a coachee, I really appreciate those coaches that gave me helpful resources. I think it would be helpful to get more resources to be able to give to peers when participating in a peer coaching model.
