I have an assessment coming up and outside of the expressive/receptive evaluation of skills I had no idea where to start or how to create goals so this was super helpful and what other tools I can use to track their progress. The examples of multiple age ranges was helpful. I didn't realize how much sensory regulation was involved.

I like how she uses the DIR/Floortime Model as a framework for approaching SM. It makes all the sense in the world to assess and treat kiddos with SM using the DIR/Floortime approach as we need to work with the whole child (social-emotional as well as sensory processing/modulation, regulation etc.) in order to foster communication and language use. I also liked how she stressed importance of OT collaboration relative to helping with regulation, which encourages comfort - communication.
