I think this is the best course I have taken on the site. I love that it is well grounded in research but also includes many practical details of implementation. I can easily visualize myself doing these things, and knowing when to use the different strategies. It's great that this includes some things that may help children who are expressing distress through behaviors. For children who lack joint attention and communicative intent, this gives a framework to make therapy more productive.

This course was so timely as I am providing services to a student is diagnosed with ASD. This information was helpful in better strategizing what I can do to support this child to be a better communicator. I still have a long way to go to feel confident in my therapy sessions with my student, but I feel more equipped on what to try, AND what to stop doing (like the over talking that was mentioned…I can’t help myself!)
