This is a topic I have not seen addressed in a CEU environment. I had a good amount of voice patients when I worked in an outpatient setting. I don't recall ever seeing a chronic cough patient. Maybe the doctors in my area were/are not aware of this type of therapy.

The ability to really evaluate a chronic cough. While we do have people with coughs I am not sure I have ever really used an eval to evaluate a person's cough. In our rural area the physicians usuallytake charge of it. Yes I do get the responses so I too can help patient but not the person to evaluate it. I am excited about it due to the fact that we are in rural area's with many elderly patient's that we service and I will be able to provide more for a patient with a chronic cough.

The instructor was very educated and experienced in this topic and shared that knowledge and experience well. However, this course was definitely long-winded for the topic. I love a thorough and detailed training, but this was too exhaustive and therefore affected my interest level in the last half of the presentation. I express this with respect for the presenter, as I am a long-winded person myself. Just thought the topic could be covered in a more concise manner.

I personally am suffering from chronic cough for almost 2 years. I wanted to educated myself on the subject. Initially I thought the paralyzed vocal cord had no impact on the cough. Now I realize after going through and listening, even though I do not have noticeable hoarseness, or loss of voice. I am a candidate for Speech intervention. The course was enlightening, reassuring and encouraging . Lauren is an excellent presenter Thank you.
