Schreiber: Good morning, Linda. Thanks for visiting with me today.

Linda R. Schreiber & Associates: You bet Linda, anytime.

Schreiber: Would you please tell the readers a little about your professional background?

Linda R. Schreiber & Associates: Yes. I am a speech-language pathologist and a Board Recognized Specialist in Child Language. I have 16 years experience working in the public schools as an SLP and also as an administrator of special programs. In 1991, I joined Thinking Publications as senior editor, then became the production manager, and later the Chief Operating Officer. Most recently, I was the CEO and Editor in Chief of Thinking Publications in Eau Claire, WI. As many of you are aware, Thinking Publications was sold to Super Duper Publications this past spring. Just before the sale, I started Linda R. Schreiber & Associates.

Schreiber: What is Linda R Schreiber & Associates?

Linda R. Schreiber & Associates: Linda R Schreiber & Associates is a consulting company. As a consultant, I share my expertise with writers/authors, publishing companies, seminar companies, and online educational companies such as Speechpathology.com in areas such as publishing, product development, marketing, and editing. My passion for publishing and speech-language pathology is kept alive in my new role. In fact, I am pleased to tell you that I am a Consulting Editor for SpeechPathology.com

Schreiber: Tell us about your role as Consulting Editor for SpeechPathology.com

Linda R. Schreiber & Associates: As you know, SpeechPathology.com is dedicated to providing quality educational opportunities for speech-language pathologists and other interested professionals (in all settings). One of their goals is to provide speech-language pathologists with information, news, articles, and programs for life-long learning so current, state-of-the-art techniques and procedures are delivered to individuals with communication disorders. My role as Consulting Editor is to seek out and deliver a new article or interview every week to support the goal of keeping speech-language pathologists current.

Schreiber: Tell us more about the articles and interviews.

Linda R. Schreiber & Associates: My goal is to offer a variety of articles on topics related to speech-language pathology. Some will be academically oriented and peer-reviewed with ASHA CEs available for the readers. They might be written by experts in our field. I will also be looking for articles from related disciplines like special education, the medical field, or psychology as examples when the content is pertinent to our field. Some articles might be more informative than academic and may be posted without a CE option.

I'll address various settings and topical areas and will be looking for articles from professors, practicing clinicians, and students.

Schreiber: If someone has an article they would like posted, how might they contact you?

Linda R. Schreiber & Associates: They can email me at LindaSchreiber@charter.net

Schreiber: You'll be doing interviews as well?

Linda R. Schreiber & Associates: Yes, the focus of the interviews will be to give readers a glimpse of a new product, a new concept, and/or a new technique. The interview might give this glimpse from the author's perspective. I might also interview that famous professor whose works you have read who might also have a unique personal side you'd be surprised to know about. The potential is endless for who might be interviewed and for what purpose.

Schreiber: And readers may also contact you if they have an idea or would like to be interviewed themselves?

Linda R. Schreiber & Associates: Yes, that's right. I should also mention that after the initial posting of an article or interview, they are archived and readers/visitors to the website can access them at any time. All archived articles and interviews can be accessed via the News and Information menu bar at SpeechPathology.com

Schreiber: Linda, thank you so much for sharing your morning. I wish you well in your role as Consulting Editor.

Linda R. Schreiber & Associates: Thank you too! And remember, for new articles and interviews, visit www.speechpathology.com weekly.
