This course will provide the speech-language pathologist the necessary information about the roles and responsibility of the SLP and audiologist in identifying an individual with auditory processing difficulties who may be a candidate for a referral to an audiologist. The SLP will then learn evidence-based practices for treatment of CAPD including dichotic training.
Learning Outcomes
- Upon completing this course learners will be able to create a battery of screening tests and profiles for APD.
- Upon completing this course learners will be able to identify a processing profile from screening, language evaluations, health history, neuropsychological evaluations, and behavioral characteristics.
- Upon completing this course learners will be able to make a valid referral to an audiologist for diagnosis of CAPD.
- Upon completing this course learners will be able to interpret the audiologic information to create a plan of care.
