Pam Marshalla discusses methods to remediate the persistent distorted R in children and adults. Topics will include: normal production of R, differential diagnosis of error patterns, selecting the right method, facilitating the Tip R, facilitating the Back R, appropriate age of treatment, training the tip to curl, training the lateral back to elevate, working with the vowels, and homework activities. Methods for both consonantal and vocalic R will be discussed.

  • Upon completing this course learners will be able to describe ways to incorporate methods to treat R problems that are intricately connected to vowel distortion.

  • Upon completing this course learners will be able to list ways to work with methods designed to get the tongue in the right place for R.

  • Upon completing this course learners will be able to explain how to design quick and easy homework activities.
