I have a second grade student who I believe has Developmental Apraxia of Speech. I would like to know what assessments are recomended for assessing DAS? I have used the Kauffman in the past but the results seem subjective. Is there an assessmant tool that

The best tool for apraxia in children that I'm aware of now is Moving Across Syllables (Comm. Skills Builders). It looks at movement sequences. Dr. Karen Crockett suggests, '' The problem with the test is it presumes the child has atleast some verbal skill.'' So, if the child does not have speech that is somewhat distinctive and controlled , I cannot think of another test that is really objective. MUCH can be said for good observation and knowledge.
