Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - School - (SLP - School)
StartDate: ASAP
Available Shifts: 7 D
Pay Rate: $1787.00 - $2059.00
AMN Healthcare is partnering with a top school district in Boston, MA to hire a School Psychologist to work in the area, providing services to children of all ages.
This School Psychologist will provide counseling services to students on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and to the regular student population (treating mood disorders, autism, anxiety, depression, ADHD, social skill deficits, conduct disorders) to foster positive coping strategies, motivation, and skill development. Responsibilities will include conducting psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs and strengths, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans, provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional and behavioral issue.
They will collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create supportive learning environments, provide crisis intervention and support for students and staff as needed. They will also coordinate outreach activities that support students and families including pediatricians, outside counseling agencies, and agencies such as DCF, DMH, etc.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology (SLP) or Related Field
Speech Therapist Clinical Fellows are Encouraged to Apply
State License is Required to Start the Assignment
Bilingual English, 2nd language can be Spanish, Creole, Portuguese or potentially additional options depending on student population.
Preferred Qualifications
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
Previous experience working in a School Setting, Early Childhood, or Pediatrics
Strong Knowledge of Speech and Language Development, Assessment tools, and therapeutic techniques.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, parents, and community members.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with federal and state regulations
Facility Location
Once a farming community, Roxbury is now home to the historic Shirley Eustis House, the only country house built by a British Royal Colonial Governor. Today a part of Roxbury, which serves as a sort of center of Black culture in Boston, is undergoing a rebirth. There’s the Roxbury Center for the Arts and Trade which opened, and many of the city’s restaurants provide locally grown organic gourmet cuisine.
