Pine Health Staffing is seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to work in the Palm Springs, CA area for the upcoming school year.
As a school-based Speech Language Pathologist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment to students who have difficulties with speech, language, and swallowing. This role will work closely with students ages 3-21 at multiple school site locations. Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, and swallowing disorders
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results
- Provide therapy sessions to improve speech and language skills
- Administer standardized tests and assessments to monitor progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for Individualized Education Plans.
- Educate students and their families on communication strategies and techniques
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records
- Stay current with advancements in speech therapy techniques and research
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to speech pathology
- Proficiency in conducting speech therapy sessions and implementing treatment plans
- Knowledge of the IEP process
- In-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology related to speech and swallowing
- Experience working in an educational setting with pediatrics
- Excellent student assessment skills to accurately diagnose speech disorders
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state license or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
