Alternative Payment Models, known as APMs, are alternatives to traditional fee-for-service reimbursement. This course will explore current payment reform structures and the impacts on post-acute care of moving from volume-based fee-for-service models to outcomes-based reimbursement.

Renee is a speech-language pathologist and currently serves as Director of Clinical Education for Encore! Rehabilitation. Renee is also the author of McKnight's Long Term Care News "Rehab Realities" blog, is a member of community faculty for the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Associations (ASHA) Healthcare and Economics Committee where she serves as the RUC Alternate Advisor to the American Medical Association's Health Care Professionals Advisory Committee (HCPAC). Additionally she maintains active membership in ASHAs Special Interest Groups for Swallowing, Neurology, and Gerontology and currently serves as Professional Development Manager for Gerontology and State Advocate for Medicare Policy (StAMP) for the state of Kentucky.
