This is Part 1 of a four-part series. This course will orient the speech-language pathologist to the risks posed by polypharmacy and COVID-19 to the respiratory system of dysphagia in individuals in long-term care. It will provide an overview of pharmacology concepts and factors contributing to polypharmacy, and will discuss effects of COVID-19 and polypharmacy on anatomy and physiology along with implications for everyday practice.
Please note: This course is also available as part of a 4-hour course, "Polypharmacy & the SLP during the COVID-19 Pandemic" (Course 9430). By completing this course, you will NOT be eligible to complete the 4-hour course for CEU credit.
