Barbara Culatta, PhD, CCC-SLP, is an international expert and author on language and literacy intervention. She has been working with children in university clinics and in consultation with teachers in educational programs for over 40 years. Dr. Culatta is renowned for creating a highly acclaimed language and literacy program (Systematic and Engaging Early Literacy) that utilizes the arts, representational play, and interactive hands-on activities to teach engaging and interactive language and literacy intervention. She is well respected for her work in using scripted play, story enactments, and hands-on experiences as contexts for teaching language and literacy skills.

Carol Westby, PhD, is a speech-language-pathologist and educational consultant. She has written and presented workshops nationally and internationally on play development and its relationship to language and literacy, the ICF, theory of mind, narrative development/assessment/ intervention, adverse childhood experiences, and multicultural issues in assessment and intervention. She has received alumni awards from Geneva College and the University of Iowa, the Honors of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the Kleffner Lifetime Clinical Achievement Award.
