I will admit at the forefront, I have not worked with an Adult population in my career, but there was so much information and acronyms that were unknown to me that I had to try and define them as I tried to listen. There were also slides the presenter showed that were not in the handouts, so as I tried to follow it got confusing....especially when I tried to go back and look for information. But I do think the presenter is very knowledgeable with the subject matter. I just found myself lost a lot in this presentation...I think it could have been made clearer especially for those of us who don't work with thie populaton yet.

My dad was recently labeled with MCI so this information was fascinating. I enjoyed the presenter's method of presentation. It enabled me to slowly absorb the material while reflecting on my dad's abilities, currently. It's appropriate to my family's current situation and will be valuable information.

I completed the course with a clear understanding of the differences b/t HOA, MCI and mild AD as well as the knowledge to assess and diagnose among the three categories. I often have pts ask if they have dementia when they likely have MCI. I'll now be able to have confidence in testing, differentiating and explaining results to pts and their families.

The content was excellent. The fine distinctions in language skills and other predictors are important to know and demonstrate when family assumes the client has AD when, in fact, they may not at all. On the other hand, if SLPs know how to test for cognitive-communicative decline, recommendation for sustaining brain function could make a meaningful difference in how that client proceeds in the aging process. The presenter used abbreviations/terms without explanation at times.
