This course applies the cognitive neuroscience of communication to enhance clarity and shared understanding across healthcare teams. Participants gain specific, neuro-informed strategies to streamline the flow of information among interprofessional disciplines—including physicians, nursing, and allied health—as well as with students and clients. These collaborative tools are designed to optimize patient outcomes while minimizing the stress of cross-disciplinary miscommunication. This course was designed for an interprofessional audience.

Teressa Rundstrom
M.S. Ed., CCC-SLP
Teressa Rundstrom, M.S. Ed., CCC-SLP, has dedicated more than 25 years to the intersection of neuroscience, communication, and human performance. A licensed speech-language pathologist credentialed through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) since 1999, she has built a career spanning the full continuum of neurocognitive speech pathology from acute and outpatient medical settings to long-term care, and from elementary through secondary education.
Her clinical expertise includes collaborative diagnostic work alongside neurologists in the evaluation and differential management of malingering, physiologic, psychogenic, and neurogenic communication disorders. This depth of neuroscientific grounding informs not only her clinical practice, but her work as a consultant and coach to senior leadership teams, global retail organizations, corporate boards, and high-profile individuals seeking to optimize communication and team dynamics.
She brings to this workshop a rare integration of clinical rigor and applied behavioral insight in translating complex neurological frameworks into practical strategies that transform how professionals collaborate, communicate, and deliver care.
