Fluency disorders (i.e., developmental stuttering, late onset stuttering, cluttering) have a relatively low prevalence, but 30-40% of children who stutter show speech sound disorders and 15-30% show language disorders. Thus, it is incumbent upon us to plan and implement improvement in both or multiple disorders. This course will focus on how best to do that.

Lisa R. LaSalle, PhD, CCC-SLP
For over 25 years, Dr. Lisa LaSalle has treated people of all ages for stuttering and concomitant disorders, such as speech sound disorder, hence her interest in keeping up-to-date in phonological processes analysis and interpretation. She earned her PhD from Syracuse University in 1993, where she worked with Ed Conture and Mary Louise Edwards on stuttering-phonological disorder co-occurrence, among other research topics. Dr. LaSalle has published widely on these related topics, and currently, she serves as Department Chair and Professor at University of Redlands in Redlands, California.
