This course will address the challenges specific to providing treatment for acquired communication disorders in the long term care setting, and provide recommendations for addressing these challenges. Specific challenges to be addressed include establishing functional goals, limited reimbursement, and limited communication partners. The use of restorative aids and teaming with PT’s and OT’s to address these challenges will be presented.
