Our knowledge about developmental language disorders is predominantly underpinned by positivist paradigms, and remarkably little is known about children’s experiences from their own perspectives. This course will explore how identity construction and well-being can be investigated in children with developmental language disorder using a qualitative methodology called narrative inquiry. By listening to children’s experiences through their stories, SLPs can learn about ways in which they can be supported across the lifespan.
