Dr. Susan Hendler Lederer received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from New York University in 1981 and 1996, respectively. After working as a speech-language pathologist with preschoolers and school-aged children, Dr. Lederer joined the faculty at Adelphi University in Garden City, LI, NY in 1997. Personal Teaching Philosophy
My courses are designed to provide students with the theoretical and empirical bases for planning and executing clinically sound practice. Disorders courses involve client studies chosen to provide students with opportunities to practice applying what they have learned. Through collaboration with our university speech and hearing center, students are able to bridge classroom to clinic. In each course, I require at least one collaborative project.
