Review by: LaJan on November 28, 2014
A strong and fairly indepth look at our responsibilities to the patient. Clinicians seem largely "afraid" to concede the need for a true connection and expressions of caring during the therapeutic process. Shame on us. Other team members need to recognize the SLP's involvement in the therapeutic dynamic as attached to the very thing that make a human, human...communication!

This course was excellent in that it re-affirmed the positive aspects I have used in my interactions with clients over the years. It also made me think about some aspects I could make improvements in to enhance stronger counseling/communicative skills. I wish this course had been in my studies years ago when I first became a clinician!

Prior to taking this course, I admit that I have been lacking in major aspects of my counseling style. I can see where much of my interactive style with my clients has been more black-and-white, rather than multifacted. I really appreciate the presenter's sharing of information and tools. I feel they will make me a better clinician.
