Course Abstract

Participants will be given the opportunity to assess their personal style within the counseling relationship, and conditions under which referral to other professionals is appropriate will be discussed.

Prior to taking this course, I admit that I have been lacking in major aspects of my counseling style. I can see where much of my interactive style with my clients has been more black-and-white, rather than multifacted. I really appreciate the presenter's sharing of information and tools. Shari Robertson, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is a professor of speech-language pathology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Researching, writing, and teaching in the areas of language, phonology, literacy, and counseling, she is dedicated to bridging the gap between researchers and practicing clinicians.
