Really inspiring to hear about what we KNOW is so important to being effective, but we are increasingly told not to do. It was nice to have the proper terms introduced to help me understand what it is that I feel I am being asked to give up so that I can better argue for why I really believe we need to add this back into our professional practice.

The information shows the direct correlation to using family systems theory in the application of speech-language pathology treatment. I have been utilizing the systems theory intervention techniques for several years, with a bit of concern that it was "against the rules" for the majority of the mainstream thought about what is most effective in therapy settings.
