It covered so much information that I didn't know about. I really liked the part on validating the feelings/concerns of the client/parent. Validate, validate, validate. I have not been doing that as well as I should. I think it will make a big difference in my therapy.

Coleman is one of the best speakers/teachers on Stuttering! He has been transformative for me with regards to stuttering. In this case, I did not have ANY coursework on counseling in my graduate school program, so appreciate his insights. He is clear, interesting, concise. I REALLY appreciate how he guides us through the process of counseling with 3 real-life scenarios/examples at the end of lecture.

I took a counseling course in grad school but they discontinued it after and I felt it was such a disservice to our profession. I have counseled clients but never those who stutter since I've never had a client who stutters. I would certainly use this model for counseling.

This is an area that needs more attention in our field, and the presenter gave a good, practical intro to research-based practices. One of the most helpful thing were the case scenarios at the end. Presenters are so well-versed in what they do, they need to realize that in order to think like they do and problem-solve like they do, I need more than information. I need a process model. Coleman was able to provide that.
