Approximately two thirds of our spontaneous conversational interactions are comprised of figurative language, mostly idiomatic expressions. For this reason it is imperative that individuals can use and understand these expressions. This course discusses the various types of idioms, how they are learned, as well as describing techniques for improving idiom use and comprehension.
