This presentation will cover current assessment and evidenced based treatment techniques for patients with VCD. Background information, differential diagnosis, interdisciplinary team approach, assessment protocols, and current treatment techniques will be reviewed. Pertinent therapy application to specific populations as well as experimental treatment outcomes involving the use of respiratory retraining therapy to relive symptoms of VCD will also be discussed.

Course Objectives
- Participants will be able to identify symptoms and differentially diagnose vocal cord dysfunction (VCD).
- Participants will be able to describe appropriate assessment methods in the diagnosis of VCD.
- Participants will be able to describe the steps in performing respiratory retraining and other breathing maneuvers to relieve the symptoms of VCD.
