Carolyn Smaka, AuD, CCC-A/SLP
As Editor-in-Chief, Carolyn is responsible for guiding editorial content development. She has worked in a variety of settings as a speech-language pathologist, clinical audiologist, audiology administrator and in several roles with a leading hearing instrument manufacturer. She is an active volunteer with professional associations as well as in her community.

Amy J. Hansen, MA, CCC-SLP
Amy has more than 14 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist. She previously worked at Case Western Reserve University assisting on several research projects funded by the National Institutes of Health focusing on childhood apraxia of speech and the impact of SSD on reading and writing development in school-age children. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Saint Mary’s College and an M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Illinois University.

Prior to joining SpeechPathology.com, Joanne worked as a clinical audiologist in a variety of settings offering diagnostic and rehabilitative services. She has been an audiologist for over 25 years, and earned her Au.D. in 2010 from AT Still University.

Amy received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication Disorders from the University of Oklahoma. Before joining SpeechPathology.com, she spent more than 20 years in the field as a clinician and later as a department supervisor. Although she has worked in numerous settings, inpatient rehabilitation is her first love - working with adults with neurogenic communication and cognitive disorders and dysphagia.

Stacy L. Williams, PhD
Chief Operations Officer
In addition to her role as President of SpeechPathology.com, Stacy is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in the Communication Sciences Department in Cleveland, OH. Her ongoing research focuses on integrating simulation technology into the field of speech-language pathology by providing clients and professionals with online learning applications. In 2004, she founded and directed the Virtual Immersion Center for Simulation Research at CWRU. The recipient of numerous honors and awards, Stacy earned her doctorate degree at the University of Cincinnati and has worked in the SLP field for over 15 years.

Chief Marketing Officer
Tony has over 20 years of diverse marketing experience. In his previous senior roles at Vonage, Nutrisystem, Gate Gourmet and AT&T Wireless / SunCom Wireless, Tony was instrumental in building emotional brand engagement, creating customer-centric marketing campaigns, overseeing lifecycle management, and leading communications and product development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Bates College, and a Master of Business Administration in finance from American University.

Katie Ondo, MA, CCC-SLP
Senior Case Developer, SimuCase
Katie brings a wealth of clinical experience to her role as Senior Case Developer for SimuCase. She served as a pediatric speech-language pathologist at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center specializing in neuro rehabilitation and augmentative communication. She is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, OH.

Jill is a technical copyeditor for text courses and assists in the development of content. Prior to joining the editorial team, over the last five years she has held positions in SpeechPathology.com's Career Center and Continuing Education Sales departments. Jill graduated from University of Minnesota at Morris with BA degrees in English and Human Services.

Nancy has been an audiologist for over 25 years. Prior to joining SpeechPathology.com full time, Nancy worked as a clinical audiologist in a medical setting, working with patients with cochlear implants and hearing aids.

Leigha Jansen, EdD, CCC-A

As an audiologist for nearly 20 years, Dr. Jansen has had the privilege of working in many different environments. From clinical settings to industry, she has always found a way to fuel her passion for education. Dr. Jansen is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University's Abraham S. Fischler School of Education, as well as a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Master of Arts degree in Audiology. Dr. Jansen’s research interests include simulation-based education and instructional design practices for the adult learner.

Brenda Pantalone, MEd
Simulation Support Specialist
From three-year-olds to adult learners, Brenda has been serving as an educator for nearly 20 years. A graduate of Purdue University, Brenda has worked in early education settings, elementary schools and at the University level. She joined SpeechPathology.com in 2011.
"By working with professors and students directly, I have the unique opportunity to see how the case studies are incorporated into a course and watch the students grow professionally as they get to know each client on SimuCase."
Instructional Technology Coordinator
Caitlin graduated from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa in 2012 with a degree in Communication Studies. She now uses her communication skills to teach presenters the facets of the virtual classroom, and provides technical support to both seminar presenters and participants.

Heather holds a BA in Communications Media from Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts. Her healthcare background includes serving as the lead Receptionist and Outreach and Digital Marketing Coordinator for a large Ophthalmology practice, where she was instrumental in improving the company’s online presence, bringing in new clients, and partnering with a hearing instrument specialist to help roll out the office’s first hearing program. Heather’s exceptional customer service skills and understanding of online marketing make her a remarkable asset to the AHM team.

Stephanie has more than 16 years of experience in the hearing health industry. A former employee of Siemens Hearing Instruments, Stephanie brings a wealth of knowledge and marketing expertise to her role as Marketing Manager. In 2009, she completed her MBA with a concentration in Marketing at Centenary College, NJ.

A graduate of the University of Georgia with a Masters of Fine Arts in Communications Sciences and Disorders, Clint has more than 14 years of experience in product development and marketing of speech-related products. In his previous roles, he has authored or coauthored over 30 special education publications, collaborated with software developers to create products specifically geared to the needs of SLPs, and managed groups of editors to meet deadlines and produce quality content.
